Why I Started Joey's Musical Loft
Though I started learning piano at the age of seven, I did not enjoy it at first. I struggled with piano, often feeling like I wasn't good enough. Every lesson felt like a chore, and I dreaded practicing. I was a late bloomer, and for a long time, I believed that music just wasn't for me.
Everything changed when I met Teacher C, a mentor who truly believed that every student is capable of success. She saw potential in me when I couldn't see it in myself. With her guidance and encouragement, I regained confidence and eventually achieved ABRSM Grade 8.
This journey shaped my teaching philosophy and inspired me to create Joey's Musical Loft. I want children to experience music as something joyful, meaningful, and empowering—not just a series of exams or rigid techniques. I believe that every child, regardless of their starting point, can find confidence and fulfillment in music.
